Great base for exploring the local area. Good shop but it's not licensed so if you think you deserve a well earned beer after pitching your tent take your own!

This was the first time that I have visited Birchwood but it wont be my last. I, my daughter and four grandchildren stayed here for two nights in a caravan. The site has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay ie a well stocked shop, hot free showers, a peaceful country setting near to Matlock and a range of spacious sites. But the really great thing about the farm was that the four children (all under the age of eleven) had a fabulous time on the grass slopes, the walks but especially the woods where they had adventure after adventure. I really would recommend this site to all.
